We heard so much laughter today as we wound up VBS.  I looked over the congregation today and saw parents and grandparents enjoying the sights and sounds of VBS as we watched the videos.  Children came on the stage to read Scripture or recite the camp pledges.  "Blaze" and "Sparx" really got the kids going with their fun skits.   Right in front of me were three little girls just singing and doing the motions as they enjoyed the songs.  

Mike Padget came away with a purple mohawk after the VBS offering was announced.  (See the children's ministry page for pictures.) We raised over $1,800 to send Geralynn to Thailand to minister to children with the district Work & Witness Team.  Mike said, "I want people to ask me why I did this to my hair, so I can tell them about how my little buddies raised money to help other children hear the gospel."  What a witness.

We heard even more laughter as the girls got to dunk Pastor Pat and Sparx in the dunking tank.  There is just something special about seeing a group of people do crazy things . . . . all to show the kids how much fun it is being a Christian.   

We had a lot of fun this week. . . . .  we laughed a lot. . . . . and we ministered to 109 children.  We walked away completely exhausted - but still smiling and Praising the Lord.   VBS is so much fun.
