Don't Worry

The following article came across my desk this morning and it really spoke to my heart.  I have talked to so many people lately that are really struggling with various areas of their life that they are worried about.  It might be finances, their children's behavior, starting school, their relationship with their spouse, and a whole host of other issues.

This article is by Karl Bastian, the writer of the material I use in Children's Church.  This article is the introduction to the next series in the Discipleship Series we will be doing with the children, "How to Pray."  Hopefully this article will speak to your heart like it did mine.

"Don't be anxious about anything, but in everything, present your requests before God..."

But do we really believe God means, "Anything" and "Everything?" Or do we live as though there are some exceptions to this verse? Your dependence upon God is reflected most clearly by the amount of time you spend in prayer asking for His help and support. If you don't pray, you are telling God by your actions that you don't really need His help. And if you worry, you insult Him, for you are calling Him either late or a failure. When is the last time you were on your knees? And I don't mean that figuratively. Just something to think about as you head into a Fall filled with needs and "impossible" things to accomplish. Don't Worry, Be Prayerful!
