Big Imagination!!!

Do you have a big imagination?  I do.  Sometimes too big.  Isn't it fun to watch a group of children playing when their imaginations are just going wild.  What a great sight.

As I was preparing for children’s church last week, I came across a simple little “joke” that has really spoken to my heart. It went something like this: “Imagine you are all alone and lost in the woods and a giant monster is chasing you and you trip and fall down and break your leg and the monster is almost upon you…. What do you do!?!?!?! ANSWER: Stop Imagining!! And you will disappear from that horrible situation!”

I talked in my last blog about fear. I discovered that a lot of my fear is created from my own imagination. I imagine things like what would happen if I get that dreaded phone call that something happened to one of my kids. Or I would imagine how I would manage if my mom had a stroke. And after I read this little “joke” God really spoke to my heart. STOP IMAGINING!! Now when those thoughts come to my mind I am immediately reminded to stop imagining. Obviously that is translated “worry.” God did not make a suggestion to us to try not to worry. He said do NOT worry about anything, instead pray about everything.  What horrible things do you imagine?   Try this simple little solution - STOP IMAGINING!
